With a legacy dating back to the 1970’s under such well known companies as Impell Corporation, Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) and Combustion Engineering in the 1980’s and 1990’s, the company was acquired by Duke Energy in 1996 and integrated into the Duke Engineering & Services (DE&S) subsidiary. In May 2002, AREVA/Framatome ANP acquired all of DE&S to form the basis of the AREVA US nuclear platform. In May 2005, AREVA/Framatome ANP sold the non-nuclear business unit to Alstom, which formed an independent company under the branding of Sigma Energy Solutions.

Today, Sigma is a market leader specializing in power, energy, and infrastructure projects. Providing full-scope engineering, technical, and professional services to clients around the world.
