Sigma is a full service design engineering services company with the ability to address all aspects of an energy conversion facility, whether it is a power generation plant for utility supply or an industrial production facility.

The Sigma Team identifies the project requirements and develops and implements a plan to execute the necessary engineering, design and procurement efforts to support the established schedule and budget.  Drawing from our collective successful experiences in project execution, Sigma works with the owner to identify all stakeholders and delineates a division of responsibility to ensure all project tasks, responsible parties and interfaces are established.  Sigma’s design engineering organization assembles a qualified technical team to execute the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control and civil/structural/architectural tasks.  Sigma’s engineering team interfaces with the procurement and construction staffs to insure critical path activities are addressed. The Sigma Team is involved with the project from initial design through commercial operation ensuring consistency and expeditious resolution of field questions.

Sigma has full CAD capabilities, utilizing both AutoCAD and Microstation and also utilizes state-of-the-art engineering software to solve intricate engineering problems.  Below are the capabilities present in our organization.

Mechanical Engineering and Design

The Sigma Mechanical Group provides engineering and design support for balance of plant (BOP) mechanical systems, including all types of drawings, flow diagrams, heat and mass balances, plant renderings, specifications, and calculations.  Verification of State, Local and Industry Codes and Standards are integrated into the engineering and design drawings, specifications and documents. 

Electrical Engineering and Design

The Sigma Electrical Group provides engineering and design analysis and support for plant electrical systems, including all types of electrical diagrams and layout drawings, load flow, short circuit and protective studies and equipment and construction specifications. The Group also performs many types of special analytical studies and engineering and design of switchyards and transmission interconnections.

I&C Engineering and Design

The Sigma I&C Group provides engineering and design analysis and support for all balance of plant systems and is capable of properly evaluating and integrating the most recent technology into new or existing systems while maintaining the system design basis features.  The Sigma I&C Group also performs special studies related to human factors evaluations, failure modes and effects analysis, instrument loop error analysis and control system integration impact studies.

Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering and Design

The Sigma Civil/Structural/Architectural (C/S/A) Group provides full scope engineering and design services beginning with site selection studies which include feasibility, constructability and cost issues, as well as environmental and permitting issues.
