Sigenergy Day Europe 2025: Showcasing the Optimal BESS in Bulgaria
In just 10 days, a 20MWh utility-scale project was successfully built in Malko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. No cranes, no complex foundations—thanks to an innovative modular design of Sigenergy battery energy storage solution (BESS), this project set a new benchmark for deployment speed. It stands as a prime example of modular energy storage in action across Europe.
To share the insights behind this flagship project, Sigenergy, together with its partner Trakia MT, hosted the “Sigenergy Day Europe 2025” on June 3rd in Bulgaria. The event brought together global industry experts, channel partners, installers, and distributors to explore how the “optimal storage solution” is not just a concept—but a reality being built today.
Tony Xu, Founder and CEO of Sigenergy, attended the event and delivered a keynote speech. He stated, “What we see today is not just a power station running efficiently—it’s a powerful example of engineering spirit and innovation in action. Since the founding of Sigenergy, we've always held one belief: the question is never whether somethingcanbe done, but whether it can be donebetter. Through modular architecture, a fully self-developed technology stack, and an intelligent platform, we’ve shown the world that we can deliver faster, more reliably, and with the resilience to handle complex, real-world challenges.”
Tony also shared that in less than three years, Sigenergy has established partnerships in over 60 countries and with nearly 100 global collaborators. The company has already become a leading player in key markets such as Ireland, Belgium, Australia, Sweden, and South Africa. “In this energy revolution, storage is no longer optional—it’s essential. We look forward to working with partners worldwide to explore smarter, more efficient, and more flexible system solutions, laying a solid foundation for the next phase of global energy transformation.”

Zarchev also highlighted the deployment efficiency and operational performance of Sigenergy’s Malko Tarnovo project, calling it “a standout example—not only technologically advanced, but also truly ready for real-world application.”

Representing the project’s local partner, Ms. Galina Peycheva-Miteva, Founder and CEO of Trakia MT, spoke highly of her company’s first collaboration with Sigenergy: “Among all the renewable energy projects we've developed over the years, this has been the fastest-moving and smoothest-executed project to date. The Sigenergy team demonstrated exceptional professionalism and an impressive ability to deliver efficiently.
She added that this project has strengthened Trakia MT’s confidence in investing further in energy storage and embracing the modular design concept: “The future of energy lies in the fusion of intelligence and efficiency. We’re excited to continue working closely with Sigenergy to bring such efficient, safe, and intelligent solutions to more project scenarios.”

Fredric Anderberg, Chief Commercial Officer of Swedish VPP (Virtual Power Plant) provider Qurrent, emphasized the critical role of energy storage systems in VPP operations during his speech: “Stability and fast response are essential for the success of a virtual power plant—they directly impact profitability and dispatch efficiency. We've worked with several brands, and Sigenergy has undoubtedly delivered the best performance among them.”
He highlighted Sigenergy’s strengths in reliability, maintainability, and availability. “The system is easy to deploy and quick to connect to the grid, making plant operation much more streamlined. Thanks to its fully networked communication architecture, the system remains highly efficient and stable—even in large-scale parallel configurations—meeting the stringent real-time dispatching demands of VPPs.”

Bartłomiej Majsik, CEO of Gaia Solar, used the dynamic electricity pricing model in Poland as a starting point to share a cutting-edge collaboration with Sigenergy. “In Poland, we currently have an hourly dynamic pricing mechanism—and it's expected to shift to 15-minute intervals in the near future. For users, this introduces an exponential increase in complexity. No one has the time or energy to make consumption decisions every 15 minutes. But working with Sigenergy marked a true turning point for us.”
He went on to explain: “Sigenergy’s AI system acts like a smart and reliable energy butler. It quickly learns user consumption habits, factors in solar generation forecasts based on the weather, and monitors real-time electricity price trends. With all this data, the AI can automatically determine the optimal times to charge or discharge—maximizing economic return without any need for manual input.”
“In one of our projects in Poland, Sigenergy’s AI performed exceptionally well: the cost of electricity purchases dropped by 40%, while the revenue from energy sold increased by 300%. It’s not just about saving money—it’s about making the entire system smarter and more efficient. Sigenergy’s AI is truly reshaping the way we use electricity and leading the way into a smarter era of energy management.”

To conclude the event, Roy Zhang, Head of Global sales and solutions of Sigenergy, gave a comprehensive presentation on Sigenergy’s innovative C&I BESS—from system architecture and performance advantages to real-world deployment.
Thanks to its modular and stackable design, the entire system was installed without the need for cranes or complex wiring. Each module is lightweight and easy to handle—movable via forklift or with a small team—greatly simplifying the installation process. A five-person crew completed the full equipment deployment in just 10 days.
The
successful conclusion of Sigenergy Day Europe 2025 not only showcased
Sigenergy’s technical strength and delivery capabilities in the global
commercial and industrial energy storage market, but also demonstrated the
industry’s best practice for modular energy storage in real-world applications.
Through efficient deployment, intelligent operation, and multi-scenario
adaptability, Sigenergy is proving in practice what the optimal energy storage
solution truly looks like.
Looking ahead, Sigenergy will continue to put
customers at the center and drive innovation forward, working hand in hand with
global partners to expand the adoption of modular energy storage across more
countries and regions—accelerating the journey toward a safer, smarter, and
more sustainable green energy future.
